·                Our number one goal is to feed the hungry while uniting the community.

·                The canned food structure will be modeled after the Vietnam Memorial Wall honoring and in memory of our Veterans.

·                The mission is to break a current record with Guinness World Records™ for the “Largest Canned Food Structure” and to provide food to the hungry in Hardin County.

·                Our goal is to collect 198,333 cans of food.  The current record is 115,527 cans held by Disney VoluntEARS in Florida.

·                Community, Individuals and Business contributions are vital to the success in achieving our goal in breaking this record.

·                The canned foods will be distributed throughout the year to feed individuals and families in Hardin County in need of assistance.

·                Hardin County will benefit with food donations and promotion of our State nationally and internationally.

·                Construction of the wall will begin August 16, 2010.  The wall will be completed on August 21, 2010.  It will be part of the Heartland Festival August 26-28, 2010.  It will be located at the Magnet Business Park, 1201 N. Dixie Ave, E’town (the former Cott Beverage Building).

·                The “Building a Wall Against Hunger” will be disassembled after the Heartland Festival and shared equally between Helping Hand of the Heartland and North Hardin Hope.
